I still have a few places left for the following study if you're running the London Marathon and interested in how what you eat affects how you run! I'm also happy to hear from people taking part in Paris, Brighton or any other marathon in the period 11-25 April too!

Thank you.
Jane

My name is Jane Nodder and I work as a Senior Lecturer in nutritional therapy at the University of Westminster, London. I’ve run a few marathons now, and I’ve been talking to Johnny G about some research I’m completing for my MSc in Nutritional Medicine at the University of Surrey, Guildford.

I’m currently looking for 80 runners, training for this year’s Virgin London Marathon to take part in a study investigating the extent to which the diets of marathon runners meet nutritional guidelines for endurance events, and the key sources of nutritional information used by this group of runners.

Study participants will be asked to complete an on-line questionnaire (max 30 mins to fill in), and to keep a 7-day Food & Training Diary during the period 22-28 March 2010. The results of my work will help develop ways of improving the nutritional knowledge and practices of marathon runners.

Johnny suggested I might find some interest from runners on TheRunningBug forum, so if you are currently training for the London Marathon 2010, and would be up for in taking part, please do contact me at nutriworks@aol.com. Thanks and good luck with training.

Hi Jane, would you be interested in those running other marathons later this year? I know there are quite a few doing their first marathon in Brighton the week before London

I am training for the Edinburgh marathon, so if you are interested I would be happy to help a little later on!

Thanks for all the positive comments. Certainly I can add those training for Paris, Brighton and any other marathon in April before or on same day as London e.g. Shakespeare - I can adjust the dates a little to fit training patterns for these runners.

Thanks Fay for the offer re Edinburgh - that's probably a little too late for this particular study, but happy to send results to anyone who is interested.

And Johnny - you are in!!!

Thanks again for the interest.
