About The Running Bug

The Running Bug is a website devoted to runners and the joys of the world’s greatest sport and pastime. Our goal is simple, to help people get the running bug and once they’ve got it then to help them keep it.

The Bug has been created by a bunch of people who all share a common passion for clocking up the miles. All of us are of different running levels and abilities, from the perennial steady Eddie to the guys whose idea of a holiday is to go running across the Sahara desert for a week!

We’ve all been beginners, we all want to run faster and further, we’ve all experienced the low of long term injury and we’ve all experienced the utter unbelievable thrill of crossing the finishing line in your very first marathon.

In short there is nothing quite like the high of running and we want as many people as possible to experience it and share it with others.

We hope you enjoy the website. We thought very long and hard as to what we as runners would want and have tried to include something for everyone.

As well as articles packed with useful tips and advice, you’ll find real life stories, running news and interviews with professionals and celebrity runners. All information on the website is free, including our extensive event search.

Running is sometimes though of as a lonely sport, but we’ve all found and made great friends through running. Therefore we’ve made the site as much about you as anything else. Sign up to the website and then participate on our forums, express your opinions, have a laugh with other runners or just let others know how good you feel after that last training run.

Running is also all about fun and community and we would thoroughly recommend joining your local running club. Having said that, we understand how location and a busy lifestyle can sometimes be a problem so we've even created our own online running club that you can join!

There’s also lots of other stuff we want to include on the website so keep your eye out or keep updated by subscribing to our newsletter or RSS feeds.

If you like the site then please let others know and if you have any feedback or just simply want to say hello then we’d love to hear from you. Send us an email at inquiries@therunningbug.co.uk.

Come and join us!
